All our jewellery is made from 100% recycled solid silver and 9k, 14k and 18k solid gold certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council Chain of Custody. Why? Because using Recycled gold lessens our impact on Earth. Not only do we not have to mine new resources, but recycling also lowers the carbon footprint of each piece of jewellery.

All of our precious metals are hypo-allergenic and never contain nickel, meaning you can feel confident wearing our products every day.

On request we are able to create your bespoke charm using yellow or white Fairtrade 9k and 18k gold. Fairtrade Gold is the world's first independent ethical certification system for gold. The Fairtrade Gold Standards include strict requirements on working conditions, health and safety, handling chemicals, women’s rights, child labour and protection of the environment.

Your diamonds should shine as bright as you. Petite Paw Prints is committed to using responsibly sourced materials, providing complete transparency to our customers, to which the origin of our diamonds is a very important part of that commitment. We ensure our diamonds are non-conflict diamonds and adhere to the Kimberley Process, which ensures the diamonds we use do not fuel armed conflict in high-risk countries. 

For any products fabricated from rough diamonds mined from January 1, 2003 onwards, our supplier warrants that the diamonds have been purchased from legitimate sources and in compliance with the United Nations Resolutions. Our supplier guarantees the diamonds are conflict free, are exclusively of natural origin and intreated based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these diamonds. 

Solid Gold is one of the precious metals, born from colliding stars. This heirloom material will last the test of time and will bring joy for generations. Gold will not oxidize or discolor, since it is the least reactive metal. Due to the softness of pure gold (24-Karat), it is alloyed with base metals for use in jewellery, this alters the hardness, colour and ductility of the metal.

9K Gold

9K yellow and rose gold is marked 375 which is 37.5% gold and 62.5% silver, copper and zinc. This gives our pieces a pale hue and is also the active lifestyle’s best friend, as it scratches less, does not bend or wear as easily as 18k.

14K Gold

14k yellow and rose gold is marked 585 which is 58.5% gold and 41.5% silver, copper and zinc. 14k white gold is the same but with palladium and silver. This gives our jewellery its beautiful, subtle hue and is a happy medium for those wanting durability and luxury.

18K Gold

18k yellow gold and rose gold is marked 750 it consists of 75% gold, the rest of the alloy is silver and copper. 18k white gold is 75% fine gold but the rest of the alloy is made up of platinum or palladium. This is a purer form of gold but also makes it softer and more delicate.

As beautiful as it is, 9K gold can be more vulnerable to tarnishing than 18K gold, and although your jewellery is designed to be worn every day it should be treated with care. 

In the unlikely result of tarnishing, add a few drops of washing liquid to warm water and gently use a soft baby toothbrush to clean your jewellery. Rinse your piece thoroughly and be sure to air dry your jewellery, finally polish with an Anti-tarnish polish cloth if needed.

You can also use a gold jewellery dip to restore sparkle to your jewellery and we recommend it be stored in the original box when not being worn. 

Gold and chlorine don't mix! Be sure to take off your jewellery before swimming or using hot tubs as this can permanently alter the colour of your gold. We also recommend that you remove your jewellery before exercising. 

Avoid spraying jewellery with perfume, hairspray and other lotions and potions. Aside from moisture in these products, the chemicals in these can also react with precious metal, causing tarnish.

When taken care of correctly, sterling silver jewellery can last you a lifetime and complements most metals, so you don't have to worry about anything clashing with your other favourite pieces. Solid Sterling Silver Hallmarked 925 is an alloy made up from 92.5% silver and 7.5% other alloys, creating durable and beautiful jewellery that can be worn daily.

Your Petite Paw Print Jewellery is robust as any other piece of jewellery, but to keep it sparkling we recommend you the following care guide:

Avoid water when wearing your jewellery because this will cause your Sterling Silver to tarnish quickly. Always remove your jewellery before swimming as chlorine will turn the silver black! 

We also recommend that you remove your jewellery before exercising as moisture will speed up the tarnishing process. 

Avoid spraying jewellery with perfume, hairspray and other lotions and potions. Aside from moisture in these products, the chemicals in these can also react with precious metal, causing tarnish. This can be easily removed by giving it a good clean with a silver polish cloth or silver dip.

Do not use any abrasive cleaning utensils as this will scratch the silver surface and damage the engraving.
